Discouraged

Just like Michelle, I am feeling discouraged about my ability to do this race. I haven't done my training schedule in about 2 weeks. I do walk/jog 11,000 steps a day in my house while im watching TV and Jude is sleeping but I haven't been jogging or running outside. My neighborhood isn't what you would call safe and I get hit on by strange guys that i'm affraid will follow me home. I gave my treadmill away last time we moved. I rarely have a car to drive somewhere. Any suggestions for me? I did rent Jillian Michaels' (trainer from The Biggest Loser) workout video that kicks my behind with circuit training. I lost 5.4 lbs last week by following my Weight Watchers plan and walking 10,000 steps 4 days last week. Every week im upping the amount by 1,000 steps. So, maybe i'm not doing as poorly as I think I am. All that I am doing has to benefit me somehow to make the race easier right? Hopefully we will be moving in a week or 2 (it keeps getting pushed further away) and I will be able to walk/run outside again in the fresh air and I absolutely love my jogging stroller that I can't use as much as id like to. Sorry if i'm being a whiny baby lol.

Hey Cass, First of all... WOW!!!!!! 5.4 pounds in one week is totally awesome! I'm really jealous and proud of you!! Way to go!!

Anyway, I totally understand your post. I've been really thinking about this whole thing and I think for me I need to not worry about keeping up with everyone else. I know the schedule is set to help us become a good runner for the race, but my original goal wasn't to RUN the race but just finish it. I am most likely planning on walking most of it but my original goal on that was to run half and walk half. I don't know if that's even realistic but I don't want to give up either and quit.

SO.... we just need to keep working at it. I do Tae Kwon Do twice a week and love it. It's only an hour and it's great exercise. I figure at least trying is better than doing nothing so...

Take care! Where do you live? Do you work during the day? Maybe we can meet at church and walk the outer edge of the parking lot?? My kids would love to ride their bikes there. Noell said at one time I think it's 2 or 3 miles around 3 times?? I'll ask her again. But let me know. Have a good week!!!!
